Silence

On November 02, 2025, the Adhyayan Writing Community hosted it's first session on the prompt of 'Silence', this session became a space for attentive listening, honest writing and shared conversation at Nukkad Cafe and Co-working, Raipur.

What: This was the first session of 'Adhyayan', as a writing community it began its journey with people.this session was about silence; as a mediator of poems, perspectives of people's purviews were presented , everyone's understanding of silence was brought forth with their poems.

Why: This session was the icebreaker for everyone to get into the world of writing , reading , and expressing one's emotions and silence played the role of a fulcrum , this session urged people to sit in silence and bring their write ups to the world of sound. leading to uncovering poems of silence-, in disappointment, earrings, therapy, thoughts and others.

The prompt for the first session was ‘silence’. Invited participants were encouraged to soak in the silence and embrace the quietude.

They were to attune themselves to the silence and pour their experiences and feelings through writing, as everything was new , the space, process and environment. People were somewhat hesitant to open up although within 20 minutes of the writing session, participants started to quietly translate their words into strings of words turning into a tune of poems. These works of silence reflected their expressions and set the tone for the gathering that followed , establishing a space for attentive listening, honest writing and shared conversation.
