Primary Objectives Of The Event

WHAT: A collective writing session under Adhyayan's series Fragments of Labor and Endurance, Session II — आँचल. Participants bring a piece of writing, then picks a chit naming an element from domestic life and continues another participant's piece through that element. Together, the writing moves across individual worlds into a shared one.

WHY: Every home holds labor that rarely rests and rarely gets named, cooking, cleaning, caregiving, emotional holding, quiet sacrifice. आँचल turns toward this invisible work carried by mothers and housewives: care that sustains, repairs, remembers, and repeats. Through collective writing, the session creates space to reflect on these lives, these routines, and the endurance that holds everything together.

Official Statement From The Organizers

Every home holds an unseen universe of labor. Most of it goes unnamed.

आँचल, the second session in our series Fragments of Labor and Endurance, turns toward the emotional, physical, and invisible work carried by mothers and housewives — care that sustains, repairs, remembers, and repeats. From cooking and cleaning to caregiving, emotional holding, constant adjusting, and quiet sacrifices, this is labor that rarely rests and rarely gets recognized.

At Adhyayan, we believe collective writing is one way to make the invisible visible. In this session, participants brought their own pieces and then continued it by an element from domestic life drawn from a chit. The result was a room full of writing that moved across individual worlds and entered each other's.

आँचल was not just a writing exercise. It was an act of witness — to the lives, the routines, and the quiet endurance that keeps everything and everyone together.
