This session brought artists together to capture and document this location in their sketchbooks. This also becomes a place for artists to connect and share their work with each other while taking a visual snapshot of Raipur to save for the city's urban landscape one location at a time. |
| Official Statement From The Organizers | Urban Sketchers Raipur is a local chapter of a global community dedicated to drawing on location and telling the story of our city through direct observation. For Episode 188, we gathered at Wild Bison Circle (Van Bhainsa Chowk), a traffic circle featuring a statue of Chhattisgarh’s state animal, the ‘Wild Bison.’ Created from metallic gears, screws, and other mechanical parts, and elevated on a platform with protective railings, the board underneath the statue showcases that it was sponsored and supported by GK TMT and Young Indians Raipur. It is accompanied by this message inscribed: “Majestic and Untamed, Van Bhaisa Stands as a Symbol of Strength and Resilience To Protect Biodiversity and Preserve Our State's Natural Heritage — A Tribute to Chhattisgarh's State Animal.” |
